Summer is winding down, school is getting ready to start, and it is HOTTER than HOT outside. To help keep all of us busy and cool this August, around 30 New Orleans Museums offer free admission during New Orleans Museum Month.
How New Orleans FREE Museum Month Works
An active annual membership to ANY participating museum grants you and a guest FREE general admission to ALL 30ish participating museums from Augus 1 – 31.
So, if you’ve been putting off buying a family membership to the Louisiana Children’s Museum or NOMA, now is the time to buy it! Your single membership essentially doubles as an all-access pass to museums across the city for the entire month.
Things You NEED To Know about New Orleans FREE Museum Month
- Bring proof of membership – you must bring proof of an active membership from one of the participating museums.
- FREE admission for two – your membership grants admission for you and one guest all month long at participating museums. Adults visiting the Louisiana Children’s Museum alone are asked to schedule a tour in advance with the museum staff.
- Don’t forget to grab your passport – you can pick up a commemorative passport at one of the participating museums. If you collect 10 stickers, you will be entered to win a prize, including a free membership to a museum of your choice.
