Mardi Gras is over, and everyone is TIRED! There isn’t a lot going on this weekend in Jefferson Parish. However, we did find a few fun story times, library activities, and farmers’ markets for you to attend if you need to get out of the house.

Storytime: 10:30 – 11:30 am for ages 0-5 at the Rosedale Library.
Community Garden Work Hour: 11 am – NOON. Everyone is invited to help work in the first ever community garden at the Terrytown Library.
Cat Craft: 3:30 – 4:30 pm. Ages 0-11 can make a cat craft at the Lafitte Library.
LEGO Club: 3:30 – 4:30 pm. Ages 5-10 can build LEGO creations at the North Kenner Library.
Thrillville Fair: Opens at 5 pm. Rides, games, food, and a circus in the parking lot of the Shrine on Airline. Admission is $10 per person, and unlimited ride bands are $35.
Tet Fest: 6 – 11 pm. Mary Queen of Vietnam Church (14011 Dwyer Blvd, New Orleans) hosts an annual Winter Festival celebrating the Vietnamese New Year with traditional Vietnamese cuisine, dance, and music. Plus children’s activities and fireworks displays. FREE

Grab and Go Craft: All Day. Ages 4-9 can grab a craft to do at home while supplies last at the River Ridge Library.
Saturday Craft: 10 – 10:30 am. Children can come make a craft in the Children’s Activity Room at the East Bank Regional Library. First come, first served.
Gretna Farmers’ Market: 8 am – NOON. Huey P Long and Third Street.
Kenner Farmers’ Market: 10 am – 2 pm. Kenner City Park, parking lot.
Basic Beginner Chess: 10:30 – 11:30 am. Ages 6-11 can learn basic chess skills and strategies at the Harahan Library.
LEGO Club: 10:30 – 11:30 am. Ages 4 and up can build LEGO creations at the Old Metairie Library.
LPO’s Musical Story Hour: 10:30 – 11 am. Percussionist Michael Metz will accompany a special reading of The Little Engine that Could at the Milton H. Latter Memorial Library (5120 St. Charles Ave, New Orleans).

Reading to Rover: 1 – 2 pm. Beginning and reluctant readers can read aloud to therapy dogs at the East Bank Regional Library.
